Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the FontScanner service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of the Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

FontScanner is a web-based tool that crawls URLs provided by the user and attempts to detect fonts used on those web pages, including fonts that may require commercial licenses. The Service provides informational reports only; it does not constitute legal advice.

3. Limitations of Font Detection

FontScanner makes reasonable efforts to identify fonts used on scanned web pages; however, font detection is not guaranteed to be complete or exhaustive. Fonts may go undetected due to technical factors including but not limited to:

• Fonts rendered inside <canvas> elements or SVG graphics.
• Fonts loaded via JavaScript after the initial page render (late-binding).
• Fonts embedded within PDFs, images, or other non-HTML content.
• Fonts served from cross-origin iframes that restrict crawler access.
• Fonts obfuscated or dynamically renamed by the host website.
• Pages protected by authentication, CAPTCHAs, or bot-detection mechanisms.
• Fonts served over CDNs or third-party domains with access restrictions.

FontScanner scan results should be treated as a starting point for investigation, not a definitive or exhaustive audit. Users are solely responsible for conducting additional due diligence and for ensuring their own legal compliance regarding font licensing. FontScanner shall not be held liable for any fonts that were not detected during a scan.

4. Account Registration

You must register an account to access paid features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

5. Scan Credits

Paid plans grant scan credits that may be used to run full-site scans. Credits are non-refundable and do not expire. Credits are consumed upon initiating a scan. If a scan fails due to a verifiable error on our end (e.g., service outage), we will restore the credit at our discretion. Credits are not restored for scans that return zero results due to the detection limitations described in Section 3.

6. Payments & Credit Cards

All purchases are processed via iyzico, a PCI-DSS certified payment processor. By completing a purchase you authorize iyzico to charge your credit or debit card for the amount displayed at checkout.

• FontScanner does not store your card number, expiration date, or CVV/CVC code.
• All card data is transmitted directly to iyzico's secure servers and never passes through FontScanner's infrastructure.
• Prices are listed in USD. Your bank may apply a currency conversion fee.
• All sales are final. Credits are non-refundable except as required by applicable consumer protection law.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit URLs for the purpose of scraping, competitive intelligence against FontScanner, or any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to overload, disrupt, or circumvent rate limits of the Service.
• Use the Service in a way that infringes the intellectual property rights of third parties.
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without prior written consent.

8. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service (excluding user-submitted content) are and will remain the exclusive property of FontScanner and its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your internal business purposes.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Font detection results are informational, may not be exhaustive, and do not constitute a legal audit or guarantee of compliance.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FontScanner shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the Service — including, without limitation, any claim arising from a font that was not detected by the Service.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Unused credits are non-refundable upon termination for cause.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes via email or a prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts.
