A homepage check, not a full audit
You do not always need fifty pages. Sometimes you need a straight answer in the time it takes to paste a URL: what fonts does this site load on the homepage, and are any of them commercial?
That is Quick Website Font Scan. No signup. No credit card. Two checks per day per IP address.
Paste stripe.com — or any public site — on the Quick Font Checker. FontScanner fetches the homepage the way a browser would, reads CSS and @font-face, and returns the same style of report you see after a credited crawl: family names, sources, and commercial flags.
What it covers (and what it does not)
Covered
- The homepage only (the document at
/) - CDN fonts (Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts / Typekit, Bunny Fonts)
- Self-hosted WOFF/WOFF2 files
- CSS stacks and system-font fallbacks
- Known commercial families from the FontScanner catalog
Not covered
- Inner pages, app routes, or content behind navigation
- Linked PDFs
- Your private license inventory match (that stays on credited scans)
If the homepage already loads Gotham or Proxima Nova, you have a reason to spend a credit on a full-site audit. If it is Inter and system UI fonts, you can move on.
Why a free homepage pass exists
Full crawls cost a credit because they walk the site. A homepage check is cheap enough to offer without an account — and useful enough that the Chrome extension deep-links here when you want a license pass on the current tab’s host.
The same checker powers the Fonts used by famous sites hub: click a brand, see a live homepage pass.
Limits
- 2 checks / day / IP — enough to try your site and a competitor
- Homepage only — not a substitute for launch QA
- Public URLs — we cannot log in as your user

Quick scan vs full audit
| Quick website scan | Full audit | |
|---|---|---|
| Account | No | Yes |
| Cost | Free (2/day/IP) | 1 credit |
| Pages | Homepage | Crawled site |
| Commercial flags | Yes | Yes |
| License inventory match | No | Yes |
| PDF / image | No | Yes |
Use quick scan to decide. Use a credited scan to document.
Conclusion
A homepage is where most commercial fonts show up first — theme defaults, hero type, cookie banners. Check it in seconds, then crawl the rest when the flags say you should.
